For many years, manufacturers such as Hypertherm have been combatting patent infringements from Chinese manufactures trying to knock-off their plasma consumables. Often times they can look the part, but make no mistake, they are far from the real deal! By not purchasing your consumables through an authorized dealer, you run the risk of ending up with these inferior knock-off parts. Manufacturers such as Hypertherm have tight tolerances on their consumables in order for them to work in perfect harmony with their power supplies. Throwing bad consumables in your system could greatly deteriorate cut quality, and even worse, could damage your torch causing significant expense in repair or loss of production.
If the cost seems too good to be true, it probably is! If you are not buying your consumables from an authorized retailer, like Welders Supply, please proceed with caution.
